What are they?

Lip fillers are cosmetic injectables made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the human body that delivers nutrients and provides hydration to the skin. When injected into the lips, fillers plump them up. They can also create a natural look, improve symmetry, and fill in fine lines or wrinkles around the mouth. Lip augmentation or enhancement is typically performed with a local anesthetic cream.

Most lip filler treatments last 6-8 months, although touch-ups may be needed sooner if you have particularly thin skin or are using lip fillers for the first time. The longevity and individual needs of fillers can vary based on different factors such as the substance used, the patient's age and their metabolism.

What is the process like?

Before your appointment, our team at Cura Aesthetics will schedule a consultation meeting to see if you are a good candidate for lip fillers. Our team will also brief you on all the pre-and post care recommendations on that call so you can prepare. Lip enhancement injections usually take 45 minutes or less. The filler is injected into the upper or lower lip using a very fine needle, and a numbing cream can be applied beforehand to minimize discomfort.
